What is the ghost town deduction in Red Chat Ritual?
The ghost town deduction is the Chapter 1 climax puzzle in community walkthroughs (roughly Days 1-6 of the 15-day run). Independent guides describe a fill-in-the-blank form: you must state where the ghost town is, how to get there, and supporting clue slots so the game accepts your conclusion. GamePretty and Guidexon’s walkthrough both document the same puzzle intent; neither source is official, and no developer answer key has been published in the fetched FAQ.
Typical community templates list five slots (wording paraphrased):
| Slot role (community description) | What you are proving |
|---|---|
| Destination | The place the clues point to |
| Route name | Which line or path you take |
| Travel time or distance | How far the trip is (guides phrase this as hours away) |
| Landmark | A landmark named in the clues |
| Prefecture | Region tied to the newspaper clues |
The in-game blank order, punctuation, and exact phrasing are [UNVERIFIED]; treat the table as a reader aid, not a transcript of the UI.
How do official hints feed the puzzle?
Official help is partial. FAQ21 in the Official Hints FAQ covers Chapter 1 investigation steps that feed the newspaper thread:
- Send the potato gun gift by Day 4 (FAQ21).
- On Day 5, use a Mega Chat during the stream connected to the newspaper investigation to learn where the newspaper is from (FAQ21).
FAQ21 warns that its Day 5 hint text reveals a gift, a deadline, and a Mega Chat choice. Read it in-game or in the FAQ when you accept that spoiler band. The FAQ still stops short of listing the five deduction blanks.
Remember FAQ13: wishlist items, Mega Chat lines, and investigation files can differ by route, so your file set may not mirror a guide screenshot even when the logic matches.
For day-range context without answer text, see /walkthrough/chapter-1/.
What is the community answer set?
Two independent community walkthroughs (GamePretty all clues guide and Guidexon walkthrough) agree on most fill-ins for the Chapter 1 ghost-town solution. They diverge on the wording of one landmark slot (both wordings are in the folded section below). No official source confirms either string.
Show the community answer (spoiler)
Community guides (GamePretty + Guidexon walkthrough) commonly submit:
- Ghost town / subject: Tsumimi Konse (the ghost town target)
- Route: Shikabu Line
- Travel: 3 hours away (distance phrasing; guides note the solution line uses distance/time wording, not “by bus” in the final blank)
- Landmark: Hexagonal tunnel (GamePretty) or Flowering tunnel (Guidexon) — two wordings for the same clue slot
- Prefecture: ST Prefecture (from the chapel newspaper clue chain per guides)
This wiki has not verified the on-screen form against Ver.1.0.1. If one landmark fails, try the alternate community wording before assuming the run is wrong.
What if the deduction fails?
GamePretty and Guidexon’s walkthrough both state that wrong Chapter 1 ghost-town answers lead to End 8. That is a community trigger report, not FAQ text.
Conflict: Guidexon’s all-endings article and Treyexgaming attribute End 8 to failing the Chapter 2 deduction instead. Do not assume End 8 only happens here. Overview: /endings/ending-8/ and /endings/all-endings/.
Practical, evidence-safe tips
- Save before the form. Official documentation recommends saving at the top of the home screen before entering a stream. Community walkthroughs extend that habit to saving right before the deduction so a wrong submit does not cost an entire day loop. Procedure: /guides/save-and-fast-forward/.
- Collect files before guessing. The official loop is search keywords, gather investigation files, then deduce. Random fills are how route guides farm failure endings elsewhere; only deliberate testing belongs in a save you can reload.
- Budget nights if you still need clues. Mega Chats and gifts cost money; daytime searches advance time. If you are clue-starved, see /guides/money-and-part-time-job/ before buying expensive chat tiers from community tables.
